Grant Park Summerfest, the annual summer event presented by the Grant Park Chamber of Commerce, will be held on Saturday, August 18, from 4-11 p.m. at the Grant Park Community Building, 208 W Dixie Highway, Grant Park.
Free children's activities, sponsored by Grant Park PTO, will be held from 4-7 p.m. Games and snocones will be available from 4:00-5:30. Get your face painted by Paint-a-Loons from
4-6. There will be an ice cream eating contest for kids, teens, and adults at 5:00. PAKT (Police and Kids Together) will do a karate demonstration at 5:30, and Dave the Juggler will perform at 6:00. The band KGB will go onstage at 7:00 and will perform until 11:00. During the entire event, you can enjoy food catered by Bennett-Curtis House and Squeals on Wheels: burgers, brats, hot dogs, pulled pork, ice cream, and more. Stop by the beer garden for a beer, martini, or margarita. Visit the dunk tank, benefiting the Grant Park Historical Society, or participate in the 50/50 raffles, benefiting Chamber community projects throughout the afternoon and evening.
