The annual "Driving the Dixie" car tour is scheduled to arrive in Grant Park in the afternoon on June 17th. The trip begins in Blue Island and travels the route of the Dixie Highway through Harvey, Homewood, Flossmoor, Chicago Heights, Steger, Beecher, and Grant Park. At each town the driver's route card will be stamped to show they were there. In Grant Park the drivers will be challenged to "guess the weight" of their car and contents and then be weighed on the Co-Op scales.  Ice Cream, cake, & cookies are planned to be sold and live music will be on hand.  The famous Grant Park Burn-Out will be available, at no cost, in front of the Police Station.

This is a great opportunity to visit the Grant Park "Driving the Dixie" sign of pictures, stories and Dixie Highway map located on the south-west corner of the Dixie as it crosses the Union Pacific Railroad Tracks.
