The Chamber's annual holiday event, Christmas in the Village, will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011. This year's theme is "Sleigh Bells Ring". You can shop at the craft show from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Community Building at the park. There will be a raffle for Christmas trees and other items. There is also a gingerbread house decorating contest for grade school children. Pick up a kit starting December 1st at MainSource Bank or First National Bank of Grant Park, and bring your finished creation to the Community Building on Saturday morning. Prizes will be awarded at 2:30 p.m.Our local Scout troops will be decorating the Village Christmas tree, next to the train track crossing, on Saturday morning.
The Grant Park Fire Department is hosting Breakfast with Santa from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. (donations accepted). Get a picture taken with Santa for $2.00.
Santa will be at MainSource Bank from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. for pictures and the requisite hearing of Christmas wishes. Bring your camera!
You can also visit several businesses throughout town that will have FREE holiday snacks and activities from noon through 3 p.m. Crocker's Coach will be providing hayrides throughout town.
Find soup and hot beverages at The Bennett Curtis House and enjoy the holiday decorations.
Warm up with hot cider or coffee and enjoy cookies at Country Financial.
See Christmas trains and window displays at Dillman's True Value, and enjoy some popcorn.
Get your face painted and make an ornament at First National Bank of Grant Park.
Enjoy the Christmas play "Broadcasting Christmas" at the First United Methodist Church at 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.
The Grant Park Historical Society will have a raffle for various items including a beautiful lap quilt. The raffle will be held at 3:00 p.m.
Enter the coloring contest and make ornaments at the Grant Park Library.
Traxx Sports Bar & Grill will be serving soup and hot chocolate.
Visit USA Family Restaurant for coffee and hot chocolate.
Stop by the Village Hall for truffles and hot chocolate. The Village is also hosting a food drive.
